To protect the trees
we plant, and the carbon that they store, we have set
up a trust. The purpose of the Trust is:
'To hold ownership of the land of the
Treeflights' forest in perpetuity so as to ensure a secure,
longterm carbon store.
To oversee, give advice and guarantee
the maintenance and management of the Treeflights' forest
for the benefit of the local and wider community, including
those that have dedicated and paid for the trees, and
to encourage bio-diversity.'

One of the main criticisms of offset
treeplanting is that the store of carbon that is provided
by the tree is vulnerable and insecure in the long-term.
The Treeflights' Trust is one way that we address this
criticism. We hope that the trust will gain charitable
status in the near future.
